A resident of Edgefield County South Carolina

A high school senior or a student presently enrolled in a post-secondary institution

Maintaining a 2.5 minimum grade point average
-
Low to Moderate Income/Underserved Family
-
Demonstrate Good Character
Scholarship Award
The amount of an individual award will be determined on an annual basis and awards may be renewable, as determined and recommended by the Foundation Board and the Director. Scholarship awards will be payable to the institution the student will attend.
Application Process
Announcement of the availability of scholarship awards and eligibility criteria will be sent to the local high schools, churches, businesses, and the community at large throughout Edgefield County.
Eligible students will be asked to complete a scholarship application which will include contact information, grade point average, list of academic and non-academic awards and achievements, a description of extra-curricular involvement, and financial need. Additionally, students will be asked to submit a brief essay on an African American History Maker, and at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, counselor, community leader or a family member. Applications, along with supporting documents must be received by April 15th Annually. Mail application and supporting documents may be submitted on the Foundation’s website: APPLICATION FORM or mailed to Mildred Springs and Ella Springs Jones Scholarship Foundation, 10911 Tavernay Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28262.
Participation In Foundation Activities
Beginning each academic year, the Mildred Springs and Ella Springs Jones Scholarship Foundation will provide financial aid workshops for all interested high school students and their parents. Announcements will be made to all media outlets in the community.

Contributions/Donations
Foundation funding will come from contributions and donations made by family, friends, organizations, corporate/business community, and individuals who share the beliefs of Mildred Springs and Ella Springs Jones that “education is a key component for young people to live successful and productive lives”.
